Travellers using Edinburgh airport during the G8 summit have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys, with hoteliers expecting a bumper crop of visitors.

Officials are warning that increased traffic at the airport could pose potential delays for commuters and holidaymakers alike.

The G8 summit, scheduled to take place from the July 6th to 8th, will take place on what is already traditionally one of Edinburgh airport’s busiest periods.

Demand for accommodation around the airport could potentially increase, and customers may wish to consider advance booking if travelling during this time.

Edinburgh Airport sees around 8 million passengers pass through its doors per year.
