Flybe has been named Northern Ireland's favourite low-cost airline in a new poll.

The airline beat off competition from rival carriers Easyjet, Jet 2 and bmi Baby to win the award, which was the first in a new category.

The title was announced at the Northern Ireland Travel News annual awards event held at the Slieve Donard Hotel.

Stephen Hobday, Flybe had of sales, said: 'To be named 'best low cost airline' is a fantastic achievement especially given the intense competition in Northern Ireland.'

Flybe is the largest airline operator at Belfast City Airport, offering the highest number of direct flights to destinations throughout the UK, including: Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London Gatwick, Luton, and Manchester.

When travelling by air, either for business or for leisure purposes, taking an airport hotel is a great way of relaxing before the journey.

Being on-site before the flight means that there is no rush to get to the airport, just a short distance from the airport hotel room.

Airport hotels normally offer park and fly packages, when if a hotel room is booked, guests can park their cars for free for the duration of their trip.
