Drivers are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys because of works to the A120 road leading to Stansted Airport.

The A120 Thremhall Avenue between junction 8 of the M11 (Stansted Airport) and Priory Wood roundabout near Stansted, Essex is to be resurfaced, the Highways Agency has announced.

From Monday November 21st, there will be road lane closures in both directions from 09:30 GMT to 15:30 GMT during the week and diversions between 20:00 GMT on Fridays through to 04:00 GMT on Mondays.

The work is expected to take three weeks, and the Highways Agency advises that people leaving for the airport plan their routes carefully.

David Lee, Highways Agency project manager, said: 'Delays are likely and I advise drivers to allow extra time for their journey during this essential work, especially those travelling to Stansted Airport.'

To save worrying about arriving at the airport on time, why not book an airport hotel at Stansted and arrive there the night before?

If you are stuck in traffic, you won't miss your flight and by staying at an airport hotel you will not have to rush around the next day.
