Monarch Scheduled has attracted 25 per cent more passengers onto its aircrafts over the past year, the airline has announced.

The success of its service means the carrier is now set to add more flights from Birmingham and Manchester Airports to the Mediterranean.

A total of 181,656 passengers flew with the low cost airline last month, compared to 145,176 passengers in November 2004.

As its customer base expands, Monarch Scheduled plans to launch new services to Almeria, Murcia, Menorca, and Palma de Mallorca from Birmingham International Airport.

Customers will soon be able to fly to Menorca from Manchester, as existing routes are expanded.

The Luton-based airline flies to Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar from the UK, and currently has a fleet of 19 Airbus and nine Boeing aircraft.

If you are flying from any of these airports, don’t forget to reserve your airport hotel room.
