Residents of Fife are to forge better links with Edinburgh Airport in the future, as a multi-million pound cash injection is to enhance bus services between the two locations.

The link has been planned to run between Inverkeithing railway station and the airport and gives another signal that Edinburgh Airport is indeed undergoing a massive expansion programme.

The development is part of a £3.7 million project, which aims to improve transport links throughout the region.

Tavish Scott, Scottish minister for transport, told the Scotsman: 'We want to encourage more people on to our buses to help reduce congestion.'

Only recently, Edinburgh announced that it is to build a new pier connecting its terminals and has also planned a second runway.

If you are travelling to the Scottish capital, why not pre-reserve your airport accommodation and airport parking?

Booking your airport hotel room beforehand saves time and hassle upon arrival at the hub.

Many airports offer free airport parking when you stay one night in an airport hotel.
