As bridge repairs and road resurfacing continue along the M8 motorway, further delays can be expected en route to Glasgow Airport this week. West Ferry and Bishopton will also be affected.

Starting from Friday, the eastbound M8 at St. James interchange will be undergoing resurfacing work, thus slowing the flow of traffic bond for the airport. The delays should only last the weekend with closed lanes being reopened on Monday. The roadwork at West Ferry however, is expected to last up to two weeks and will entail road resurfacing, bridge reconstruction and the replacement of barriers.

The work is expected to run smoothly, and Amey's unit manager, Bruce Donaldson attempted to reassure motorists in his statement, 'While we don't expect the works to cause major delays, we advise drivers to plan their journeys and leave extra time to reach their destinations, particularly if travelling to or from Glasgow Airport.'
