The much discussed rail link to Glasgow Airport has finally been approved by Renfrewshire Council, with construction to take place in seven different aspects. The green light was given to the participating contractors this week, who will soon begin work on the ambitious £210 million project.
Once completed, the railway system will be bale to carry passengers from Glasgow Central Station to the airport in just 16 minutes. The trains will leave every 15 minutes and will stop once, at Paisley Gilmour Street.
The agreement for the multi-faceted project was approved by members of both the planning and economic development board of Glasgow, with the convener of Renfrewshire Council's planning and economic development board, Councilor Iain Nicolson saying, 'The planning approval for these vital features marks another milestone in the development of the airport rail link.'
