On February 7th, the Real Hotel Company launched its newest project, bringing the first purplehotel to Scotland in the form of the purplehotel Glasgow/ Airport.

The airport hotel will have 103 bedrooms and is located just four miles from the Glasgow Airport, just off Junction 26 on the M8. It will be the 11th purplehotel in the UK.

The new general manager of the hotel, Iain Hamilton said: "purplehotels bring a new dimension to the market place with its ‘no frills chic style’ providing clients with everything they need and nothing they don't need.”

The airport hotel will offer tired travellers large beds with bounceback pillows and walk in showers with seats. The bedrooms are all equipped with air-conditioning, flat screen televisions, and wireless internet access. For £59 a night, guests are also treated to a large buffet breakfast.

"We want purplehotels to be fun, informal, an 'open shirt' sort of place," explains Iain. "We have an unstuffy attitude to being genuinely helpful and making people feel welcome. Each hotel has poetry on the wall, cool music to relax with and a 'purple fragrance' designed especially for us. You can get off the road and stop travelling when you get to a purplehotel."

Included in the hotel are 30 executive family rooms which accommodate a family with two children. In addition, the hotel also has meeting rooms and business facilities.
