Heathrow’s newest airport hotel, the £180 million Sofitel near Terminal 5, is getting ready to dazzle diners with the opening of a new restaurant, the Brasserie Roux. The opening of the Brasserie in June will be overseen by Albert Roux.

The new Sofitel is the result of a franchise agreement between Arora International Hotels and Accor. The hotel will have 605 rooms and is located on the ‘land’ side of Heathrow’s newest terminal building.

Brasserie Roux plans to offer diners the best in regional French cuisine. In addition to the regular dining area, the restaurant will offer a private boardroom and a chef’s table in the kitchen. A head chef has yet to be announced for the kitchen.

About his role setting up the restaurant, Roux said: “I am really excited to be involved in such a prestigious project. My aim at the Sofitel Heathrow is to provide guests and visitors to the hotel with a culinary experience that is second to none. Brasserie Roux will enable diners to forget their airport surroundings, allowing them to sit back, relax and enjoy world-class cuisine.”

Albert Roux is one of the best known chefs in Britain and has been voted as one of the country’s most influential chefs, as well. Albert works as a food consultant and publisher and was recently bestowed AA awards for Hospitality and Lifetime Achievement.
