The airport hotel formerly known as the Renaissance London Gatwick Hotel has been taken over by Accor and is being re-branded as the Mercure London Gatwick. The change began taking place on Friday. With the new hotel, Accor will now operate three properties at Gatwick including the Ibis hotel and the Sofitel.

The Mercure London Gatwick offers 254 rooms half a mile from Gatwick Airport. Shuttles from the airport to the terminal take just five minutes. In addition, the hotel is easy to reach, just a few minutes from the M23.

All of the rooms offered by the Mercure, and there are a variety of styles available, have en-suite facilities and high-speed internet access.

In addition to the comfortably stylish rooms, the hotel offers 15 meeting rooms with high-speed internet access. There are various styles and sizes of meeting room available including a large facility able to hold 220 delegates.

The hotel has a fitness suite, extensive car parking facilities and offers wireless internet in all of its public areas.

During the second half of this year, the Mercure will begin a refurbishment program but plans to do so without any disruption to the guests.

The hotel has two restaurants, the Pavilion and L’Olivio, both offering the Mercure hotels’ exclusive wine list Les Grands Vins. The wine list has been developed to allow guests to enjoy specially selected wines at affordable prices.

Shane Pateman Director of Operations Mercure Hotels, Regional UK and Ireland said, “Gatwick is a key location for the Mercure brand – it is a major international business and tourist hub and is key for us as we develop the brand in the UK. This hotel is an ideal addition to the Mercure portfolio and we look forward to working with Arora International in building on the success that the hotel has already achieved.”
