The additional departure will operate on Wednesdays, from 27 May until 18 October, and is due to the increased demand for dynamic holiday packages to Turkey.

It will complement the Sunday departure and also the twice-weekly service scheduled from Manchester, and the Birmingham departures as well, where passenger capacity has already been increased.

From Gatwick, Avro will be operating charters to Dalaman six days each week, with up to three flights daily. From Manchester, departures are scheduled five days each week.

Service to Bodrum will also be offered from Birmingham, Gatwick and Manchester.

Prices start from £139 per person, and include 20kg of baggage.

Michael Vinales, the managing director of Avro, said: “Turkey continues to thrive in the DP market as we are able to offer agents the good day time slots that families demand over the summer period. It’s also a destination which agents feel increasingly confident about booking as many repeat visitors know exactly which properties they want to book, making it easier for the agent to component package.”

He went on to say: “We have needed to increase our frequency as some families are looking for more flexible durations possibly to fit in more with their reduced budget. They may not be able to take that traditional 14 night break but they still want to travel.”
