Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced that it is to launch another Sheraton hotel in the Arab emirate of Dubai. The global hotel and resort operator said it has inked a deal with the Abdulsalam Alrafi Group, which owns the new hotel, called the Sheraton Dubai Sheikh Zayed Road Hotel.

The new hotel is to be part of a new mixed-use project that occupies three towers and is located at the centre of the commercial district in the emirate. Starwood says the new Dubai hotel forms part of planned global strategic expansion by Sheraton.

Under Sheraton’s new expansion strategy, the hotel brand will add 60 new hotels and more than 20,000 rooms to its existing portfolio in the next three years. A Starwood spokesman said that it expects Dubai to see increasing demand as a destination of interest to both leisure and business travellers.

President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts for Europe, Africa and the Middle East Roeland Vos said how delighted his company was to be working in conjunction with Dubai’s Abdulsalam Alrafi Group to launch its latest Sheraton hotel in Dubai. He added that Starwood was the leading player in the sector in the Middle East.

Mr Vos went on to add that the company is dedicated to further regional growth and expansion. He explained how the market would continue to play an integral role in Starwood’s overall development plans.

The Sheraton Dubai Sheikh Zayed Road Hotel will offer a total of 660 rooms. This includes 480 guest rooms as well as 180 serviced apartments. An extensive range of dining, leisure and conferencing facilities and Sheraton’s many signature amenities ensure the brand’s latest hotel will live up to the hype.
