The 2012 BTA prizes were handed out in London late last week at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, where the Best Budget Brand award went to Premier Inn for the third year in a row, edging out both Travelodge and Hampton by Hilton. Similarly, Whitbread’s Jurys Inn was also recognised for the 'Best Corporate Social Responsibility scheme'.

Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants’ managing director, Patrick Dempsey, said upon receiving the awards that the company’s employees could be proud of the recognitions after a year of hard work. He added that he was “delighted” to accept both awards and noted the firm has committed itself to be a “force of good” via its Good Together community programme.

Jurys Inn, which features more than 30 mid-market properties around the UK, was also name the Best Independent Business Hotel Group, whilst Radisson Blu took the top prize for the Best International Hotel Brand.

Other organisations recognised in the ceremony included the BSI booking agency, Go Native and Bristol Airport.

The BTA awards have been running for 17 years; recipients are chosen via a panel of judges made of top business travellers, journalists, travel consultants and other industry professionals.
