A press release issued early last week said that flights from Leeds Bradford to Tenerife would feature extra capacity next winter and would commence on 9 November. Additionally, the tour operator will be launching a new route to the popular Red Sea getaway of Sharm el Sheik on Thursday 8 November.

"We are delighted to announce a new, exclusive route from Leeds Bradford airport to Sharm el Sheikh and an increase in the number of seats available for our existing Tenerife route,” said Thomson’s director of customer service, Carl Gissing.

Mr Gissing said the move came as a result of strong demand to the two top destinations.

Likewise, Leeds Bradford airport commercial head Tony Hallwood said to reporters, "We are pleased that Thomson Airways is now offering passengers from Leeds Bradford Airport even more choice to these two favourite holidays and fly cruise destinations.

He later added that the increase in capacity to the classic holiday hotspot of Tenerife would prove to be among the most welcomed expansions of the firm’s current selection of “Winter Sun” getaways.
