The Hilton Los Angeles Airport and Towers has been awarded the Green Seal's Bronze Level Certification.

As it possesses 1,235 guestrooms, the Hilton Los Angeles Airport and Towers is one of the largest airport hotels in the world and was given its award by Laurie Hughes, the Gateway to L.A. initiative's executive director. The Hilton LAX is situated close to LAX, a hub which boasts the City of Angels' largest gathering of hotel properties certified by the Green Seal.

Mark Liberman, who is both president and CEO of LA's Tourism and Convention Board, commented that the Hilton LAX is the fifth property of the Gateway to L.A. Group to have achieved such an impressive level of environmental excellence and it is hoped that such trends will continue. Liberman went on to add that the Century Boulevard has emerged as LA's green hospitality centre with some of its biggest hotels having reduced their carbon footprint by making operational changes.

In a time period of less than three years, Gateway to L.A.'s business district is now able to boast that five of its major hotels, which, of course, includes the Hilton LAX, have followed the lead of the Radisson by undergoing a rigorous process of being made into Green Seal certified properties. Other properties to have been awarded the seal include the Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel, the Crowne Plaza LAX, and the Sheraton Gateway Hotel.
