Hotel conglomerate Accor is to open four new properties in Greater London next month.

Two of the new properties – a Novotel brand facility and one Ibis hotel – are set to be launched at London Blackfriars whilst a new Mercure hotel will open in Greenwich. Meanwhile, the company will open another Ibis at Shepherd’s Bush.

Accor’s managing director for the United Kingdom and Ireland, Thomas Dubaere, said in a statement that the move comes following an immensely important opportunity to expand its London inventory following the 2012 Olympics. He went on to say that the move would “ensure the legacy” of Accor's presence in London and that the firm would simultaneously improve training and development efforts for staff.

Officials said that the move would create some 170 jobs.

The largest of the new properties is the Ibis at London Blackfriars, which will offer 287 guestrooms, followed by the 182-room adjacent Novotel at London Blackfriars, which will feature a full-scale health club as well as several restaurants and a new “media hub” for electronics enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, the 145-room Mercure at Greenwich will be housed in the historic and recently updated Maurice Drummond House. Similarly, company said that the new 128-guestroom Ibis Shepherd’s Bush will highlight regeneration efforts around Shepherd’s Bush Market.
