Marriott launches new Costa Rica airport property

US-based hotel giant Marriott has launched a new property new San Jose airport in Costa Rica.

The company said this week that it had officially opened the doors of the Courtyard San Jose Airport, which is situated just minutes from Juan Santamaria International Airport – the country’s primary travel gateway – at 1727 Technology Drive in Alajuela.

The property is comprised of more than 127 guestrooms and 2 specialised suites. Officials said that all units offer contemporary workspaces, complimentary high-speed wireless internet access, upscale bedding, LCD televisions and private in-room safes.

According to a press release, the property also boasts a set of five meeting/event rooms, a special business lobby with WiFi, a fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool as well as full-service onsite dining at Centro Bistro.

The company boasts that the new facility is LEED-certified and employs a range of sustainable and green building techniques, which include solutions to reduce water consumption by up to 30 per cent and to extend energy efficiency by as much as 18 per cent.

Marriott also announced this week that it is planning to build its first ever Courtyard by Marriott property in Chile in the Las Condes district of Santiago, next door to the Santiago Marriott.
