Budget hotel firm Premier Inn has completed its largest hotel in the United Kingdom at Gatwick airport.

Officials revealed the new facility Thursday, 29 November, marking the completion of the company’s 50,000th room. The property is set to open early next year and offers more than 600 bedrooms in close proximity to Gatwick airport in West Sussex.

The launch of the property marks a major step in the company’s latest expansion effort, according to Patrick Dempsey, managing director of Premier Inn parent firm Whitbread. Guests staying at the hotel can enjoy the brand’s ‘good night sleep’ guarantee, in addition to a king-sized bed, ‘freeview’ television, an en-suite bathroom and 30 minutes of complimentary wireless internet access.

Both Dempsey and employment minster Mark Hoban were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony; Whitbread officials say the growth effort is to create some 10,000 jobs in within the next three years.

The firm has already begun construction on one of its next major milestones for the effort, as crews have kicked-off refurbishment efforts on Birmingham’s Exchange Block buildings, which will become a new 140-bedroom Premier Inn facility. The property is slated to open in August of next year.
