Movenpick launches first Paris property

This week saw hotel giant Movenpick Hotels & Resorts acquire its first property in the French capital.

The Movenpick Hotel Paris Neuilly was taken over on Wednesday and offers 281 rooms and 19 suites. The property is located only three metro stations from the city’s famed Arc de Triomphe on Boulevard Victor Hugo.

Officials from Movenpick Hotels & Resorts said that a major renovation effort is in the works for the new property, with construction set to begin in the coming summer.

The property’s general manager Pascal Leprou said in a statement that the hotel is already exceptionally popular among area residents thanks to its relaxed location, atmosphere and its renowned 58 Bar & Lounge. He added that under the guidance of Movenpick that his local organisation was looking forward to building on its success.

Jean Gabriel Pérès, president and chief executive of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts is a Paris native and said that the company was “delighted” to have been given the opportunity to head a renowned property in one of the world’s major economies. He added that the hotel offers both international visitors and savvy Parisians an “extraordinary way” to experience the French capital.
