Hotel conglomerate Rezidor opened five new properties during the fourth quarter of 2012.

Officials from the company said in a press release issued on Monday that the firm had also signed agreements for four new properties amid the firm’s ambitious growth efforts. The new facilities will combine to bring an additional 1,200 guest rooms to the group’s portfolio.

New properties opened late last year include the 508-room Radisson Blu Resort & Congress Centre in Sochi, Russia, in addition to the Park Inn by Radisson Budapest and the 127-room Park Inn by Radisson Lille Grand Stade. Rezidor now has more than 74,000 guest rooms in 56 countries, according to the release.

Among forthcoming properties, the company has recently signed deals to open two new Radisson Blu properties in Germany as well as the new Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam.

Rezidor’s senior vice president & head of group development, Elie Younes, told the media that property conversions would continue to be a key part of the group’s growth strategy in the coming months.
