London-based hotel giant InterContinental Hotels Group have launched a new property in the Japanese city of Osaka.

According to a Business Traveller report published on Thursday, the firm has officially opened the new flagship-brand InterContinental Osaka in the city’s Grand Front Osaka commercial area.

The property’s general manager Hafidh Al Busaidy said in a statement that the hotel would strive to provide every guest with something appealing as well as memorable contemporary luxury. He went on to add that the property was situated in one of Osaka’s most exciting new developments and that it would cater well to both business and leisure travellers alike.

The InterContinental Osaka features 215 guestrooms in addition to an exclusive health club and ample event space, according to an official press release.

Meanwhile, IHG has recently announced an effort in which the firm seeks to substantially increase its presence in Central America. The company has kicked-off the initiative via two forthcoming Holiday Inn Express properties; one in the city of Tegucigalpa in Honduras and the other in the Nicaraguan capital of Managua. Both hotels are slated to open next year, according to an IHG press release.
