Starwood launches new Turkish properties

Hotel conglomerate Starwood Hotels & Resorts have launched two new properties in Bursa, Turkey.

According to an official press release, the firm officially opened the Sheraton Bursa Hotel and the Aloft Bursa Hotel this week; the moves comes as a major step amid the company’s ongoing growth efforts, officials said.

The launch comes in cooperation with property owner Faik Celik Holding and brings Starwood’s total number of properties in Turkey to nine. In addition, the move will provide the city with more than 300 new hotel rooms whilst the Sheraton brand moves one step closer to its goal of launching its 500th property by 2015.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts president for the Middle East, Europe and Africa, Michael Wale, said in a statement that launch marks a significant milestone in the ongoing development of Bursa. He went on to add that the new properties would bring a compelling product to visitors of a cosmopolitan city highlighted by culture, sport and industry.
