Oliver

Oliver

The story of Oliver Twist begins in the workhouse with the plucky lad pleading at meal time with cruel Mr Bumble for more gruel. His fellow orphans watch as he is duly punished. Oliver is sold to an undertaker whose family treat the poor lad badly. Oliver finally escapes his tormentors and finds himself alone on the grimy streets of Victorian London. Fagin's lair of pick pockets awaits along with Nancy with her heart of gold, Bill Sykes and the Artful Dodger.

Originally staged in London in 1960, Cameron Mackintosh now presents his version of Lionel Bart's masterpiece at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane brining to life the Lional Bart classics Food Glorious Food, As Long As He Needs Me and Consider Yourself.
