Blackpool - Norbreck Castle

3 star - This hotel overlooks the Irish Sea on the North Shore. It was totally refurbished in 2005 and has 400 en-suite bedrooms. Norbreck Castle offers excellent hotel facilities including a leisure club with free access. Blackpool - Savoy

3 star - Situated in the quieter part of Blackpool The Savoy Hotel has wonderful sea views and the tram stops right outside the hotel. Although this hotel does not offer airport parking a taxi transfer takes just 20 minutes to the airport. Savoy Hotel Information

Blackpool - New President

2 star - Situated on the Promenade of the North Shore this hotel has exceptional sea views. The hotel has 65 bedrooms and transfer to the airport would be via taxi and would take approx 15 minutes. There is no parking available at this hotel. New President Hotel Information

Blackpool airport undertook a major refurbishment in 2006 at a cost of 2 million and this has meant that the airport can now easily accommodate 1.5 million passengers per year and it now has 14 check in desks and a brand new open plan departures lounge.

Blackpool Airport Information

The Airport check in desks are open 3 hours before departure for holiday charter flights and 2 hours before the departure time for scheduled flights but the desks close 40 minutes before departure and it is advised check in is made at least 1 hours before your flight is due to take off.

Blackpool Airports departure lounge can seat 600 and while you are waiting for your flight you can enjoy a drink or meal in one of their Horizons restaurants located both pre security and airside or light snacks and drinks at Bar Icon. There is also a tax free airport shop for gifts, and tax free goods plus two currency exchange units.

Disabled Access: At Blackpool Airport all passenger areas are situated at ground level and are all wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are available on request and all check in counters have low shelves, there are also disabled toilets available throughout the airport and the payphones are all low level also. There is also a dedicated area just outside the airport terminal for pick up and set down.

Getting to the airport

By Road: The airport is conveniently located at the end of the M55 which links up with the M6, and onwards to the M61, M65 and beyond. Once on the M55 at Junction 4 where the M55 ends and becomes the A5230 Squires Gate Link Road (signposted South Shore), continue straight ahead until you reach a roundabout. At the roundabout take the first exit and continue towards the next roundabout and then take the third exit. Continue straight on through three sets of traffic lights you will see Blackpool International Airport on your left.
