To benefit from the best fares it is best to buy in advance and use a website that compares the prices of all the ferry operators in one quick search. Ferryonline.co.uk compare the prices and allows you to book online with immediate confirmation. They deal with every Dover ferry operator including P&O Ferries, Myferrylink and DFDS Seaways formerly Norfolkline who all sail from Dover Port. Unfortunately SeaFrance ceased trading at the end of 2011, but their ships are now used by My ferry link.
If you wish to purchase from the ferry terminal you must go to the Travel Centre situated at the entrance to the Ferry Terminal. Here you will find booking desks for travellers to purchase tickets, ticket prices on day of departure are considerably more than web fares.
