Holidaymakers setting off on skiing holidays will welcome news that they now have the option of flying to the mountains from Gatwick Airport.

From December 17th 2005, winter sports fans can take a direct flight from London Gatwick to Innsbruck, Austria from where they can hit the slopes.

Travellers using Gatwick Airport may also wish to book an airport hotel to break up the journey. Airport hotels usually offer park and fly packages, where customers who book hotel accommodation can park their cars for free while away.

British Airways will run a five times weekly service to Innsbruck, with the launch coinciding with the start of the ski season, and it will continue with two flights a week in summer 2006.

All flights offer a choice of Club Europe and Euro Traveller cabins with complimentary food and drinks and more legroom and baggage allowance than many other carriers.

Gatwick offers a wide range of hotel accommodation to suit every budget.
