When packing to go on holiday, UK travellers are most anxious about forgetting to pack their toothbrushes, says a new survey.

In a poll of over 300 holidaymakers, the electric toothbrush was named the top holiday essential, followed by a wash bag.

Clean underwear, a camera and mobile phone were also deemed necessary items in Heathrow Express' poll. Other travellers were careful to remember their cosmetics, books, laptops and emergency medical kits.

Brian Raven, Heathrow Express managing director said: 'This type of research will help us in developing value added promotions and special fares aimed specifically at the leisure market.'

The survey illustrates that air passengers' place a real emphasis on planning their trips away, reports website Europe Travel News.

Heathrow Airport has a variety of facilities that enable you to arrange your vacation in advance.

With ample pre-bookable airport hotel accommodation and airport parking, there is no excuse for leaving your arrangements to the last minute.
