Nottingham's East Midlands Airport has seen a larger number of passengers flow through its doors this June than for the same period last year. Passenger numbers were up by around 16% from 426,998 in June 2005 to 496,105 for June this year. Over 50,000 travelers made their way to Faro, Alicante, Palma and Malaga. The total scheduled traffic grew by over 30% overall and that was helped by an increase of 10 new routes with Ryanair. Its domestic services grew by over 7% and its charter traffic just slipped ahead of last years figures. The increase in passenger traffic was not just based on June's numbers as statistics showed that April and May was also up by 23% and 16% respectively.
