The average cost of a hotel room in London has reached a record £128 during 2006 as workers involved in corporate deals flood the market. Revenue per available hotel room which is the industry's key growth indicator rose by around 30 per centto £101 in the year to July. Frank Fiskers, head of Hilton International's London spoke about the 'phenomenal year' London has witnessed based on a buoyancy in teh UK economy which resulted in companies booking out more and more meetings, incentives congerences and customer based events.

The average occupancy rate for London hotles rose to 88.6 per cent from 77.8 per cent on the previous year. This is compared against a rise of only 1 per cent in occupamcy to 77.5 per cent for regional UK hotels.
