The Moran Group recently acquired six Bewleys Hotels, making their holdings ten in total. The hotel group now has a significant presence in the Dublin area. Moran now owns the Dublin Airport Hotel, the Newlands Cross hotel, the Leopardstown hotel and the Ballsbridge hotel.

In London, the Moran Group owns the Crown and Chiswick hotels. Moran also owns the Leeds and Manchester Airport hotels, the Red Cow Moran hotel in Dublin, and the Silver Springs Hotel in Cork.

The Moran Group is headed by Tom Moran, a former publican from Limerick. His most recent deal included the acquisition of the Matrix Ireland laundry operation as well as the hotel package.

“This is an exceptional opportunity for us to expand our group and further establish our brand across Ireland and the UK with a ready-made portfolio of successful and strategically located hotels,” said Tom Moran, managing director.

“Our success to date has come from developing quality properties in top locations and offering excellent service at competitive rates, so I believe that the Bewleys Hotels will complement our group perfectly,” said Tom.

Depending on the season, the Moran Group employs between 1,300 to 1,400 people and offers the public 2,500 bed spaces.

Tom said that he is looking forward to working together with the new employees. “My fellow directors and I have met with many of the personnel in each of the Bewleys Hotels over the last couple of months and have found the response to be extremely positive,” Tom said.

“These are exciting times ahead for all of us, so we are delighted to have the support of both the Moran and Bewleys staff and management as the group continues to grow. We are also looking forward to caring for Bewleys' valued customers, and to building a rapport with their existing suppliers.”
