Both hotels will be located in the new £160 million Central Village, situated between Ballymore and Merepark. The two new properties will add more than 360 hotels rooms in Liverpool.

The Copthorne Hotel Liverpool will face Newington Square and also open onto the Boardwalk’s public spaces. The Millennium Hotel Liverpool, a four-star deluxe property, will be constructed in the Grade 2-listed Watson Building, which will also be expanded to meet the hotel’s space requirements.

Corporate and meetings markets, as well as the leisure travel market, will be targeted by both of the new Liverpool hotels. Function spaces and conference facilities will be featured, and both properties will offer gyms and spas and restaurants and bars open to both hotel residents and the public.

The CEO of Millenium & Copthorne Hotels, Richard Hartman, said: “The addition of these two Liverpool hotels to our growing UK portfolio marks a significant step forward in our intention to manage properties in the best locations available.”

Hartman added: “We are a destination-focused hotel group with the right hotels in the right places and we look forward to opening the Millennium & Copthorne Hotels in Liverpool.”
