The firm said on Monday that plans were in the works for a 208-room version of its Park Inn by Radisson brand as well as for the 135-room Radisson Blu Hotel Oslo Alna. Rezidor said that both properties are to be launched in Q3 of 2013 and will be operated under its Wenaasgruppen development arm.

Kurt Ritter, president and chief executive of Rezidor said that the hotelier was “delighted” about the new extension to its partnership with Mr Lars Wenaas. He went on to say that with the opening of the two new hotels that Rezidor’s Oslo portfolio would be extended to 10 hotels with a total of more than 2,800 rooms around the city.

The two properties will be situated adjacent to one another on a highly visual lot near Oslo’s E6 motorway, which provides the main link between the airport and the city centre. The location, set approximately 40kms from Oslo’ main airport in Gardermoen and some 10kms from the city centre, is ideal for business travellers headed to the corporate favourite Radisson Blu property, the company said.

At the same time developers look to target upper midrange travellers with the brand new Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Alna, noting that the hotel offers excellent value for money and features about 1,200 square metres of conference/event space, a fitness club as well as onsite dining and parking.
