The Britain-based company said on Wednesday that it had closed a deal with Rayadah Investment Company for two new high-end properties in Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). The deal will consist of the first Hotel Indigo facility in Saudi Arabia as well as a top-end InterContinental brand property.

Both hotels will be located in the centre of the district, which IHG said is among the Middle East’s foremost financial hubs. Officials said that the two new hotel projects are part of the firm’s efforts to boost its presence in Saudi Arabia by more than 50 per cent within three to five years through the launch of nine new hotel properties.

According to the press release, Hotel Indigo KAFD will be comprised of 225 guest units alongside an upscale specialty restaurant, a lobby café and an all-day restaurant. It will also feature a fitness centre and swimming pool, panoramic views via specially-designed balcony and a range of space for conferences and events.

Likewise, the InterContinental Hotel KAFD is to feature more than 50 suites and 161 guest rooms as well as extensive business facilities, an exclusive health club, more than a dozen dining outlets and a lap pool.
