New Holiday Inn Southend airport property open for business

InterContinental Hotels Group has recently opened its new Holiday Inn hotel at London Southend airport.

Situated near the Harp House Roundabout, the £10 million hotel features 129 guestrooms across five storeys and offer state-of-the-art soundproofing, officials said in a press release. Also onsite is a special rooftop bar and restaurant, as well as modern conference/banquet facilities able to accommodate up to 150 guests.

Steve Brazil, managing director for the Holiday Inn brand said to media that the property aims to provides outstanding customer service in a memorable hotel property.

Similarly, Alastair Welch, managing director of Holiday Inn London Southend, told reporters that high-quality hotel properties are a crucial ingredient for the successful operation of an airport. He went on to say that the property would improve area facilities for both passengers and flight crews and would also provide a fresh resource for the local economy.

The soundproofed rooftop restaurant will be highlighted by the work of head chef Kieran Moore, whose cuisine will combine traditional British favourites fused with a modern twist, according to the release.
