The launch of a new Premier Inn property in Lincolnshire has been pushed back.

The new hotel in Broadgate, Lincoln, was originally scheduled to open its doors last week. However, the new 130-bedroom facility has yet to launch; officials have confirmed the delay although no official opening date has yet been published.

Reports said last week that the £6.5 million project had been set back due to the construction firm that was building the hotel - Speymill Contracts Ltd - having gone into administration.

Premier Inn officials said that a new opening date will be announced once a new building firm has been contracted.

A spokesman said in a statement that the hotelier's management is "very disappointed" about the delay, noting that the situation was out of the company's control. He went on to add that the new contractor will be selected by Seven Capital Hotels, the company that is working as the developer for the project.

Customers affected by the move will be provided with a full refund or can stay at another Premier Inn property for the same rate as their original reservation, officials said.
