Budget hotel chain Premier Inn has announced plans to add a substantial amount of rooms to its inventory in Scotland.

Reports said on Tuesday that the low-cost brand has signed agreements to build four new hotels in top Scottish locations, which will see 388 bedrooms added to the brand’s portfolio. New properties are to be constructed in Glasgow’s Pacific Quay area, Stirling, St Andrews and Perth.

Premier Inn officials said that the move is part of the company’s ongoing expansion effort, through which the brand seeks to have 65,000 rooms available in the United Kingdom by the end of 2015. In addition, the firm said that the project would bring 150 jobs to the Scottish economy.

John Bates said on behalf of Premier Inn’s parent firm Whitbread Hotels that the brand would continue its rapid expansion in the coming years in order to meet rising demand in a number of locations. He added that that the new properties would compliment Premier Inn locations recently opened in Ayr and Glasgow.

Premier Inn currently has about 52,000 guest rooms in more than 650 properties throughout the British Isles, according to the release.
